Dr Chen has been practicing medicine for over 30 yearsand has performed over 10,000 various cardiothoracic surgeries. With extensive experience, he is skilled in accurate diagnosis and minimally invasive surgery of pulmonary nodules; Minimally invasive surgery for thoracic diseases includes lungs, esophagus, mediastinal trachea, and muscle weakness; Surgery for complex lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal tumor, and tracheal tumor; Correction of chest deformities and micro scar surgery for palmar hyperhidrosis; Targeted therapy and immunotherapy for tumors.

Dr Chen is the member of the Breast Cancer Professional Committee of the Shanghai Anti-cancer Association, a standing member of the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Professional Committee of the Shanghai Association of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, a member of the Rapid Rehabilitation Professional Group of the Thoracic Surgery Branch of the Shanghai Physicians Association, the director of the Accelerated Rehabilitation Surgery Thoracic Surgery Demonstration Center of the Thoracic Surgery Branch of the Shanghai Physicians Association, the executive vice chairman of the Thoracic Surgery Special Committee of Pudong New Area, and a member of the Health Emergency Response Special Committee of the China Research Hospital Association Shanghai medical appraisal expert, senior member of the International Association for Lung Cancer Research (IASLC), and pulmonary nodule diagnosis expert of the China Lung Cancer Association.

Dr Chen has won the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Progress Award.
